Can you recieve diminished value on a motorcycle due to a wreck?

Posted by admin

My 100th anniversary Harley was rearended which
resulted in damage. The other party insurance is paying for repairs. Can we also ask for seperate diminished value? What could we expect? Damage was light but do you want to buy a wrecked one or one that wasn"t.

Only if your state recognizes dimunition of value, and there are very few that do. And it’s VERY hard to prove.

I would ask for diminished value, if it caused any frame damage no matter how light.

An auto policy or motorcycle policy will not pay for diminished value. Even if you asked for it now you would not know the diminished value until you sell it. If the damage is light and is fixed correctly there should be no diminished value
