I was rear ended at an intersection. The other driver was citied with an unsafe lane change. His insurance gave me the run around when it came to rental car and repairs on mine. I filed the claim through my insurance. A $1000 for the rental, $10,000 in repairs to my BMW and a $500 deductible. I need to know what to do to get diminished value on my car. Blue book shows a value of $19,500 for trade in. When I went to trade it in, they offered me $7,500 due to the damage and repairs it had sustained. It was repaired by a certified BMW dealership. His insurance was/is State Farm. Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Accident happened February 22, 2009. I got my car back May 9, 2009. Thanks!

Sounds more like a bad dealer problem than an insurance problem.
