How do you figure diminished value of a car after it’s been wrecked?

2006 Honda CRV 4 wheel drive hit in rear and had to have $4300.00 in repair bills and the insurance offered $196.00.
There’s something missing here. Did you have normal collision coverage? What was it like? What were the limits? Did the other driver have insurance? Were you covered for under-insured drivers?

You don’t. The insurance company determines diminished value and you either accept their offer or you reject it and argue for more money. 90% of the time you won’t get any but that shouldn’t stop you from trying.
Diminished value is a joke. The dollar values are so small it’s not worth worrying about.
